Deputies Chairman of CoMBiH Bevanda and Turković Talk with EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Borrell

Deputies Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH, Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bisera Turković received today Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union Josep Borrell, with whom they discussed the European perspective of BIH, 25 years after signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Minister Bevanda, in his capacity of Head of the Council of Ministers of BIH delegation, thanked to Borrell for his visit, which was successfully realised in time of pandemics and difficulties faced by the whole world.
The meeting paid a special attention to commitments BIH has within the process of fulfilment of condition for accession to the EU and 14 priorities from the European Commission Opinion Action Plan.
Minister Bevanda stressed that the European integration process must engage all-level authorities, in conformity with the Constitutional arrangement, which is the only way to guarantee success, and that is for a coordination mechanism is in place in BIH.
According to Minister Bevanda, the European integrations have no alternative, and all political actors in BIH are in agreement that the road to the EU is something to contribute to better life of all citizens of BIH.
Minister Bevanda said that that it is clear to all that reforms are necessary to accelerate and that all in BIH should take responsibility for their own part of obligations, with a full respect of the Constitution and biding legislation.
Minister Bisera Turković thanked to the European Union for overall assistance thus far, emphasising as extremely important the EU decision to enable BIH access to instruments and initiatives available to member states within the struggle to contain the Covid-19 pandemics.
According to Minister Turković, the European perspective is the key priority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a continuous communication needs to be kept with the EU institutions for important goals to reach. She pointed that BIH is burdened with problems of illegal migrations, and added that she expects a full support by the EU in solving the migrant crisis.
The High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union Josep Borrell said he expects the Council of Ministers to remain devoted to reform implementation to enable BIH to progress towards the EU, and urged BIH Institutions to intensify dynamics of reform implementation on the European road.
The meeting was attended by envy of Chairman of the Coucnil of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija Milorad Đurđević and Head of EU Delegation and Special Representative of the European Union in BIH Ambassador Johann Sattler.
