Minister Bevanda and Head of EU Delegation Wigmerk Talk on Economic Reforms Programme



Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevnada received today Head of the Delegation of the European Union in BIH and EU Special Representative of for BIH Lars Gunnar Wigmark.

At the meeting they said that it is very important that the Fiscal Council of BIH adopted a Global Fiscal Framework for 2016-2018.

Minister Bevanda assessed that the budget calendar would be fully complied with as the 2016-2018 Framework Budget Document has been already finalised by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury and will be provided to the Council of Ministers soon, after which a development of  2016 Draft Budget of the BIH Institutions and International Obligations of BIH will start, so that the whole process might be completed by September and adoption procedure finalised by the ned of year.

The meeting also discussed activities concerning harmonisation of the European reform agenda so that implementation activities might take place as soon as possible targeting the improvement of economic situation in BIH.

The interlocutors agreed that it is an absolute prerequisite to arrive at solution on important issues through agreement, and such process would imply establishment of an effective coordination mechanism within the European integrations process.

“We should take case of the importance of consultations with those not only competent but also responsible for the implementation of the European regulations”, Minister Bevanda said.

He added that timely all-level consultations proved as effective also for harmonisation of documents prepared by the Directorate for European Integrations of BIH.

The meeting stressed the relevance of recent visit by an IMF Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and good cooperation with other international financial institutions.

Wigemark emphasised that the EU Delegation in BIH will continue to support BIH on tis European road.
