Minister Špirić and Ambassador Harčenko on Improvement on BIH-Russia Cooperation



Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury dr. Nikola Špiić  talked in Sarajevo today with Ambassador of the Russian Federation in BIH Aleksandar Bocan-Haračenko.

At the meeting, they discussed the current political, economic and security developments in BIH, especially activities concerning the normalisation of work of institutions at the BIH level.

The meeting pointed at activities between line Ministries of BIH and Russia being intensified over the past several months in preparation of inter-government treaties necessary to improve the business environment and foreign investment protection.

In that regard, negotiations on double taxation avoidance are expected to start by the end of August between the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BIH and Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

The meeign touched upon the issue of clearing debt of the former SSRR, including the issue of repayment of war debt for gas which BIH owes to Russian companies.
