Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury dr. Nikola Špirić received a Delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by head of Mission Ron van Rooden.

The IMF Mission’s visit to BIH is a follow-up of the Stand-By Arrangement Eight Review, before decision-taking by the IMF Board on disbursement of the Stand-By Arrangement ninth tranche worth KM 113 million.

The meeting agreed on a necessity to continue all-level structural reforms activities regardless of the fact that general elections of October require formation of new government.

Minister Špirić said that a Draft Budget of BIH Institutions and International Obligations of BIH for year 2015 was prepared by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury within the legal deadline, which was made possible after the fiscal Council adopted the 2015-2017 Global Fiscal Framework .

The Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH underlined that the Budget of the BIH Institutions remained within the same framework as it was in the past four years, i.e. transfers from indirect taxes at BIH level would be KM 750 million, while the BIH Institutions will dispose of total KM 950 million next year, in accordance with the adopted Global Fiscal Framework.

The meeting stressed expectations of early formation of new government to allow for further fulfilment of commitments from the Letter of Intent with the IMF on structural reform all-level implementation.

The IMF representatives thanked to Minister Špirić for his engagement in the reform implementation at BIH level, stemming from the IMF Stand-by Arrangement, and expressed their hope that good cooperation will continue in future.

The IMF delegation was comprised of IMF Resident Representative in BIH Ruben Atoyan and Chief Economist Ricardo Llaudes.
