Minister Špirić Receives US Ambassador in Farewell Visit

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and treasury dr. Nikola Špirić received today in a farewell visit US Ambassador in BIH Patrick Moon.
The last meeting, at the end of term of Ambassador Moon was a chance to assess the implementation of reforms in BU over the past period, as well as for discussion on current political and economic developments in BIH.
The meeting agreed that there is a setback in solution-finding to major political issues and dealing with obstacles that impair foreign direct investments and improvement of economic situation in BIH.
The meeting discussed the up-coming visit by a delegation of the International Monetary Fund, which is scheduled to arrive early September for the fourth review of the Stand-By Arrangement.
Minister Špirić informed Ambassador Moon of the activities taking place at the Fiscal Council of BIH, which is to adopt a Global Fiscal Framework for 2014-2016, to be followed by budget drafting for the next year. In addition, expected indirect tax revenues and activities of the Indirect Taxation Administration Steering Board, headed by Minister Špirić, were among discussed topics.
Ambassador Moon emphasised the importance of a long year engagement of Minister Špirić in the Council of Ministers of BIH, pointing especially his contribution to maintaining of the fiscal stability in BIH.
Minister Špirić wished success to Ambassador Moon in his future work, and as a memorabilia he presented a gift – book of Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić, whose deed can always be a source of new and useful experience of relationships within BIH.
