Minister Špirić Talks with Czech Ambassador



Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić met in Sarajevo with Czech Ambassador Tomaš Sunjog.

Assessing the bilateral relations as good, the meeting pointed at a need for furthering of economic relations between BIH and Czech, which investors are especially interested to  invest in civil construction and energy sectors.

Minister Špirić emphasised the necessity to create conditions for FDI attraction to BIH,  one measure of which is the harmonisation of legal regulations.

The meeting touched upon the issue of clearing debt between two former states, namely SFRY and Czechoslovakia, which as assessed at USD 85 million.

Minister Špirić said that a meeting of the Standing Joint Committee of high representatives of successor-countries will take place in Sarajevo this time – its date is yet to be determined - which will be an opportunity for successor-countries’ Finance Ministers to get briefed on the clearing debt status towards former Czechoslovakia.
