Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić received today Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the USA Philip Reeker.
Talking about the current political and economic developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the interlocutors assessed that a stalemate in the implementation of the ECHR ruling in “Sejdić-Finci” case poses a large obstacle to further progress of BIH.
A shared assessment was that finding solution to these open issues by the end of September would produce indispensable optimism for the reform implementation and in other areas so that BIH might accelerate its EU integrations process.
Minister Špirić and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker expressed their expectations that a standstill will be removed in the process of solution finding for the “Sejdić-Finci” ruling implementation and issue of state and military property by the next Brussels meeting, scheduled for October 1, so as to allow more attention to be paid to economic issues.
A necessity of creating conditions for FDI attraction was emphasised, which implies undertaking all measures to result in economic growth in BIH.
The meeting agreed to continue economic reforms discussions between representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BIH and US Embassy in BIH.
