Minister Špirić Talks with Head of World Bank Office in BIH

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury talked toady with head of Workd Bank Office in BIH Anabel Abreau.
The meeting discussed both the new organisation of operations in the World bank BIH Office and reforms towards improved definition of needs of the country depending of individual economic indicators.
The Head of the World Bank Office in BIH said that the new approach in work presumes making a diagnose of the state of affairs in vital sectors in the country, in order to produce a comprehensive analysis on country’s main drivers of development, which necessitates a cooperation of BIH authorities.
Abreau said that a World Bank team is to launch a monitoring mission in BIH this September, in order to develop a new partnership framework between the World Bank and BIH, as the existing Partnership Strategy expires in mid-2015.
Minister Špirić stresses it is necessary to implement reforms to allow economic growth through developing private sector, as a part of the World Bank SMEs Development Programme.
The Minister of Finance and treasury of BIH said that in addition to a series of problems following disastrous floods that affected BIH, the country’s macroeconomic stability was preserved, as contributed by the IMF Stand-By Arrangement.
Minister Špirić underlined that over KM 10 million were secured at the BIH level for assistance to flooded areas, which signals willingness, despite of the BIH Budget being the administrative one, to assist in recovery from damage, and thanked to the World Bank for its assistance offered a the Donor Conference in Brussels.
He meeting agreed about the necessity for all levels of authority in BIH to address key reforms and improve the business environment, increase investments and economic activities.
