Chairman of the Council of Ministers Receives Head of ICMP
09/01/2009
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Chairman Špirić asked for information on the ICMP DNA laboratory system operations, especially in the light of Avdo Palić case.
Bomberg said that the laboratory system operates and is monitored in compliance with the verifiable quality control system, and that the checks are being carried out by an international group of world renowned forensic experts within the Steering Board of Forensic Professionals.
Chairman Špirić expressed his support for an additional external ICMP system evaluation, as the credibility of the whole process is of the utmost importance to families of missing persons.
The meeting noted again the problem arisen when a part of INO staff organised self-initiatively an exhibition of mass graves in B-H, only showing victims of one ethnic group.
Špirić assessed as unallowable the failure of the Steering Board to react to this unilateral activity, which violated the Rules of Procedure of the Institute Managers Collegium and harmed the credibility of all previous results achieved in the process of finding missing persons.
The meeting also discussed the issue of filling the Institute for Missing Persons managerial posts.
President of the Institute for Missing Persons Managers Collegium Milan Bogdanić also took part at the meeting.
