Chairwoman of Council of Ministers of BH Borjana Krišto in Visit to Ankara: Meeting with Vice-President of Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz

Within the Marmara Summit in Istanbul, an official visit to Ankara was organised for Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto, where a meeting was held with Vice-President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz.

The high political officials touched upon extraordinary and friendly bilateral relations of the two countries, with mutually expressed wishes for strengthening of cooperation in various aeras.

Chairwoman Krišto stressed out determination of Bosnia and Herzegovina to undertake reforms along tis European road to strengthen economic standard and domestic economy, which may be competitive within regional framework and beyond. In the current Council of Ministers of BIH made breakthroughs, despite all challenges, that may serve as a generator for new steps in future.

The meeting discussed energy issues and security that in current geopolitical circumstances becomes inevitable topic in international and regional discussions. Chairwoman Krišto briefed Vice-President Yilmaz of signing an inter-governmental agreement with the Republic of Croatia “South Inter-Connection”, which has a capacity to contribute to a strong energy emancipation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and enable gas provision from LNG Terminal in the Republic of Croatia. Such strategic projects strengthen position of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the regional level when it comes to gas procurement.

The meeting also discussed a need of the BIH Election Law reform, which has its social and political dimension.

The legitimate political representation of all constitutive people would relax internal relations and stabilise political situation. The electoral engineering and imposition of political representatives of one constitutive people to another one makes cross-ethic relations more complex, which is the interest of none.

Chairwoman Krišto thanked to Vice-President Yilmaz for his hospitality, and invited him to visit our country, to continue the high level political and bilateral relations. (end)
