Chairman Council of Ministers of B-H Receives Ambassador of Russian Federation

Chairman of the Council of Ministers Dr. Nikola Špirić received in introductory visit Ambassador of the Russian Federation Aleksandar Bocan-Harchenko. 

Chairman Špirić and Ambassador Harchenko assessed that important potentials for cooperation between the two counties are not used to the full and that there is a lot of space for its improvement.

 

In that context, they highlighted the importance of tomorrow’s visit by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, for which it was assessed that will give a new impetus to development of comprehensive bilateral relations and which represents a sign of the intensified attention which Moscow pays to the situation in B-H in the context of international efforts at strengthening peace and security in the region.

 

The Russian Ambassador said that Russia is interested for strengthening economic ties with B-H.

 

Chairman Špirić stressed that the importance of intensifying bilateral relations with this friendly state, especially relations in terms of economic, education and cultural cooperation.

 

The meeting emphasised the importance of solving the issue of inter-governmental debts – B-H debt for Russian gas and former SSSR debt to B-H.

 

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Ambassador of the Russian Federation exchanged views of the current political situation in B-H.
