Chairman of Council of Ministers of B-H Talks with Council of Europe Development Bank Governor

Chairman of Council of Ministers of B-H Dr. Nikola Špirić held a meeting with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) Governor Rafael Alomar, in Istanbul today, discussing this Bank’s projects in B-H. 

The CEB currently finances three projects, of total value of USD 27 million, on improvement of social conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

Chairman Špirić said the projects, which are without risk exposure, are in their final stage of implementation, which proves their thorough preparation.

 

At the meeting, the interlocutors looked upon new projects, as well, one of them being the construction of State Prison.

 

At its session held on September 30th, this year, the Council of Ministers accepted the Initiative for Negotiations for Conclusion of EUR 19.3 million Loan Agreement between B-H and the CEB for the construction of the State Prison. This Loan would enable continuation of the construction operation, along with attraction of sizable donor funds.

 

Chairman Špirić stressed that the CEB is present in B-H though participation in other multi-source financed projects.

 

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers also informed the CEB Governor of the economic situation in B-H in general, saying that the Stand-By Arrangement B-H concluded with the IMF contributed to the World Bank readiness to support B-H.

 

Chairman Špirić and Governor Alomar considered possibilities for CEB new credit lines for the development of small and medium enterprises in B-H.

 

Upon the invitation by World Bank President Robert Zoelick, Chairman Špirić takes part today at the fourth “Bally Dialogue”, gathering representatives of 20 most powerful countries, which is devoted to the economic and financial dimensions of the climate change.
