Chairman of Council of Ministers of B-H Dr. Nikola Špirić received today members of the B-H Institute for Missing Persons Advisory Board, with whom he discussed the current issues form the domain of search for missing persons. 

Chairman of the INO Advisory Board Zvominir Kubinekl and Board members Vanda Havrnek, Smilja Mitrović, Munira Subašić, Ahmet Grahić and Boro Peulić briefed Chairman Špirić on the challenges faced by families of missing persons in the search process.

 

The Advisory Board especially pointed at the problem of lengthy procedures for issuing orders for exhumations and engagement of court experts for autopsy and identification.

 

The meeting discussed the issue of unidentified remains, which were exhumed in previous period and are placed at the autopsy centres and memorial crypts.

 

Chairman Špirić invited INO Advisory Board members to take additional efforts in the process of searching for family members of missing persons in order to take their blood samples for DNA analysis.

 

As regards the INO managing structures, Chairman Špirić emphasised that that INO Managing Board must have legitimacy and credibility.

 

The Chairman warned members of the Advisory Board that on February 26th, 2009, the Council of Ministers tasked the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees to propose Decision on Appointment of Vacancy Commission for selection of Managing Board members, which will announce the vacancy competition and implement the relevant procedure in accordance with regulations in force.
