Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H Dr. Nikola Špririć talked in Istanbul today with World Bank, International Monetary Fund and EBRD officials. The dominating topics of the meeting were the Stand-By Arrangment and social reforms in B-H.

Chairman Špirić held separate meetings with World Bank Country Director Jane Artitage, World Bank Dutch Constituence Executive Director Rudd Treffers, IMF Dutch Constituence Executive Director Age Bakker, and EBRD SEE Director Peter Rainiger.

Špirić talked with the representatives of the World Bank on its portfolio in B-H, small and medium enterprise support projects and the budget support programme.

Špirić stressed particularly the importance of the World Bank taking flexible approach in resource allocation. Chairman Špirić used the opportunity to make a repeated request for the soft IDA-term loans for B-H.

Today’s meetings also raised concerns over the Federal Parliament conclusions jeopardising the IMF agreement with B-H, which might have the negative impact on the whole B-H.

Chairman Šprić expressed the commitment for necessary fulfilment of the Letter of Intent requirements and avoidance of political trade in order to preserve country’s credibility.
