Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H Dr. Nikola Špirić received Director General for Foreign and Military-Political Affairs of the Council of European Union Robert Cooper.

The meeting discussed the internal political situation in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European Integrations prospects.

Cooper congratulated to Špirić for a success in meeting the Road Map requirements for visa liberalisation, pointing out that it shows that positive break through is possible to be made in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the meeting, Špirić assessed that a positive decision on visa liberalisation would create a new optimism among B-H citizens, much needed for the rest of reform agenda.

They also discussed a need for the completion of procedures for all appointments, creation of conditions for closing the Office of High Representative, as preconditions for B-H application for EU membership, including conducting the Census in 2011.

Chairman Špirić underlined that B-H necessitates an open dialogue on all outstanding issues, and that it is better making a series of small steps, than trying to solve all the issues in once.
