Prime Minister Milanović Comes as a Friend of All Peoples in BIH

Announcements

02/10/2014

We are astonished by numerous negative reactions to the arrival of Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović to Bosnia and Herzegovina or, more precisely, to one of BIH cities, the relevance of which is assumed to be the same as that of Sarajevo, Banjaluka, Tuzla or Brčko.

In their reporting on arrival of the high guest, authors of numerous articles or commentaries failed to take into consideration a fact that the Republic of Croatia, equally as the Republic of Serbia, are the co-signatories of the Dayton Peace Agreement, that it is the EU and Peace Implementation Council member, therefore it is obliged to assist in solution-finding to emerged problems and conflicts.

Prime Minister Milanović has, on several occasions, in his address to media, clearly stated that he will make his effort for BIH to get a clearer European perspective of a candidate country, and that riots were not to take place had the European Union - of which Croatia is a member -  had a more coherent and defied policy. He said that he came to distract passions to another topic, and that is, for sure, the European path of BIH.

For all the above stated, a question is posed how come that such messages of good intention for all BIH citizens can be marked by someone as adverse and ill-intentioned, evoking an answer that a positive idea of support and focusing attention of the EU to the situation in BIH seems not to be in someone’s interest.

This way, we also highlight a fact that an announcement of Prime Minister Milanović’s visit to BIH was prepared according to all diplomatic protocol procedures, thus making claims of BIH Presidency members, expressed in media, totally untrue. The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH reserves the right to invite and welcome his colleagues, other states’ prime ministers, without a need to seek anybody’s agreement.

Chairman Bevanda has been spending all his term in office contributing to regional linking and strengthening of cooperation among political factors of the region. In such an effort, he enjoys a full support from the neighbouring countries. So, the call of Prime Minister Milanović is the way to create a safe and stable social environment as a precondition for faster approaching the European Union.

Due to all above mentioned, we are thankful to Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović for his support, as we always stand ready to support to and receive an extended hand of neighbours and friends, reads an announcement of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
