Vjekoslav Bevnada Talks with Head of WB Office in BIH

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda received today head of Office of the World Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro Tatiana Proskurryakova.
Proskuryakova expressed her pleasure for continuing cooperation with Minister Bevanda in the new Council of Ministers, and stressed that the focus of current activities is the preparation for the Spring Meetings of the World Bank to be held in Washington next week.
Minister Bevanda said that authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina attach great importance to this event, which will be proven by the attendance of top-officials form BIH at the semi-annual meeting in Washington.
They agreed that efforts on structural reforms are necessary to continue at all levels, and that their dynamics must be stepped-up after the authorities have been established following the October general elections.
Minister Bevanda underlined that the Ministry of Finance and Treasury is in the final process of preparations of a Draft Law on Budget of BIH Institutions and International Obligations of BIH for 2015.
“We do expect that to finalise minor corrections to the Draft Budget for this year, and adopt it at the Council of ministers in order to forward to for further adoption procedure. I believe that we might have adopted this year’s budget by the end of this month”, Minister Bevnada said.
He added that the reactivation of the arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as the continuation of World Bank projects would be of a great significance for all-level Government in BIH.
“We are committed to work on improvement of competitiveness of economy and on reform implementation to enable better business environment and FDI attraction”, Minister Bevanda stressed.
Head of the World Bank Office for BIH and Montenegro stressed that the declared commitment for reform implementation in BIH is encouraging, and expressed her hope for a successful future cooperation.
