Zvizdić and Bevanda with Euro-Parliamentarians: Many Reasons for Renewed Optimism in BIH

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć and Deputy Chairman and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda talked today in Sarajevo with members of the Joint Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH and European Parliament Parliamentarian Committee for Stabilisation and Accession between the on the Euro-Atlantic road of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Chairman Zvizdić briefed EMPs of the current political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and stressed the determination of all-level authorities in BIH for European integrations and decisiveness for the Reform Agenda Action Plan implementation.

Chairman of the Parliamentarian Group for Cooperation with BIH and Kosovo Tonino Picula said that the are many reasons for renewal of optimism as regards Bosnia and Herzegovina. He pointed out his assurance that new possibilities are being opened for advancements which Bosnia and Herzegovina makes rather for the sake of itself, than to please others.

Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Security and Defence Michael Gahler commended efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina on implementation of the rule of law and all forms of combat against crime and anti-corruption activities.

The EMPs congratulated taking effect of the Stabilisation and Accession Agreement, which opened a new dimension of cooperation at the parliamentarian level. EMPs Picula and Gahler welcomed holding of the first meeting of the Joint Committee for Stabilisation and Accession.

Chairman Zvizdić said that the reform moves already show results since all socio-economic indices are in a slight up-ward trend. He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches a serious attention to the security and stability in BIH and the region, expressing readiness of our country for soon submission of application for a full membership in the EU.

The meeting was attended by Heaf o BIH Mission in EU Lidija Topić, and Deputies in the European Parliament Jozo Raduš, Bogdan Andržej Zdrojewski and Julie Ward.
