Zvizdić – Gentolini: To Continue Economic Reforms

Chairman Zvizdić informed Minister Gentolini of the Council of Ministers’ aims, saying that these include the rule of law, increased dynamics of activities relating to the European road, economic development, regional cooperation and fight against crime, terrorism and corruption. He thanked for everything Italy has done for BIH over the past period of time. Especially, he thanked for activities on commemorating the 20th anniversary of genocide in Srebrenica, last week in the Italian Parliament.
Chairman Zvizdić expressed his gratitude for continuous cooperation in the areas of culture, stressing that the proof of this is a concert of the Milan Scala in Sarajevo yesterday evening. He asked Minister Gentolini to help in realisation of a construction project of the contemporary art museum Ars Aevi, designed by one of the most renowned Italian architects Renzo Piano.
Minister Gentolini said it is very important to continue economic reforms and that BIH needs to take the road leading towards its candidate status in the European Union.
The agreed that it is very important to invest in SMEs development, to improve business environment, which would represent an axis of self-employment. The noted the importance of professional education and labour re-training.
Speaking of the contemporary art museum, Minister Gentolini said that more institutions from Italy, the European Union and BIH should get involved in the coming period of time for realisation of the contemporary art museum construction undertaking, which would be a reflection of an international cooperation, but also in order to conserve its extremely valuable collection.
They agreed of the importance to activate the MAP by the end of this year, as the last BIH step towards NATO. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in BIH Ruggero Corrias.
