Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć talked in Sarajevo with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Peoples Republic of China and Secretary-General for cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries (16 + 1) Liu Haxing on bilateral relations between the two countries and multilateral cooperation within 16 + 1 initiative or cooperation of the PR China with Central and Eastern European countries. Secretary-General Haxing conveyed to Chairman Zvizdić greetings form Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, and stressed that the aim of his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina is the realisation of ideas Chairman Zvizdić and Prime Minister Keqiang exchanged at the IV Summit of Prime Ministers of 16 + 1 initiative, held last year in Suzhou. 

Chairman Zvizdić assessed the 16 + 1 initiative as an excellent concept of multilateral cooperation, He reaffirmed the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina to take an active part in the 16 + 1 platform, and to be a part of the new “Silk Road” connecting Europe and Asia. He emphasised that BIH is active on daily basis on improvement of market arrangement and strengthening of business ambience in order to put is human and natural resources potentials in the function of accelerated economic growth.

“Last year we had a GDP growth, with decreased unemployment and an increase of exports. Our economy awakes and we need a strong partner to foster the economic growth and generate employment”, Chairman Zvizdić said.

He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is already engaged on organisation of a joint BIH-PR China Economic Forum to be held in the second half of April. He underlined that Bosnia and Herzegovina will have prepared a series of project for the Economic Forum. He stressed the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina for better economic linking with the PR China through joint projects.

Secretary-General Haxing assessed the bilateral relations as excellent and commended the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the 16 + 1 initiative. He noted readiness of the PR China to continue strengthening cooperation in the areas of joint interest. He pointed out at n interest for deepening both political and economic cooperation. He expressed satisfaction for Chinese companies have a successful projects implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed a wish of the Chinese side for the positive trend in cooperation in electro-energy sector to continue and eventually extend to other sectors, like agriculture and wood processing industry, including other infrastructure projects.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the PR China in BIH Chen Bo.
