Zvizdić in Official Call to Romania

Following a ceremony of solemn welcome in front of Government building in Bucharest, Chairman Zvizdić talked with Prime Minister Dancila on improvement of economic relations, European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on regional cooperation.
Chairman Zvizdić aid political relations between the two friendly countries are very good and without outstanding issues. He welcomed Romanian presidency over the Eu and thanked for Romania has kept the topic of enlargement as one of priorities of its chairing.. He expressed the interest of BIH for deepening and strengthening of cooperation in the area of European integrations and economic relations, with an emphasis on promotion of foreign exchange, where there is a lot of space for improvements. As the areas wherewith sufficient space and shared interest, Chairman Zvizdić noted agriculture, energy, automobile and machinery industry, in addition to IT sector, tourism and environmental protection.
Prime Minister Dancila congratulated to Chairman Zvizdić for the achieved impressive results of the Council of Ministers of BIH over the previous four years. She emphasised that Romania strongly supports the Euro-Atlantic integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stating the readiness of Romania to offer both political and technical assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to step-up BIH moving along the European road. She added that Romania wants to make the cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina stronger and advanced, especially the economic cooperation by way of connecting of chambers of economy and respective entrepreneurs. She stressed that the Western Balkans is a part of Europe and that Romania supports BIH ambition to get the status of the EU candidate country, adding that the only guarantee of the permanent peace, stability and economic development of the region is its EU and NATO membership.
Chairman Zvizdić briefed Prime Minister Dancaila of the current political developments in BIH, underlining that the BIH perspective for the EU and NATO membership is a motivator and impetus to necessary reforms and economic development, primarily to stabilisation of the general situation in BIH, so the early gaining of the EU candidate status would have a positive effect to stabilisation of political developments, as well.
Chairman Zvizdić added that the European perspective of the region is set as an imperative, since it ensures further strengthening and growth of our economies, democratisation of society, and improvement of living standard and badly needed permanent stabilisation of the region through a continuous strengthening of regional cooperation. As a positive example of boosting the regional cooperation, Chairman Zvizdić noted the Berlin process, which already yields very encouraging, measurable and relevant results, with addressing the key topics, from infrastructure connection, strengthening of economic cooperation, tackling with joint security challenges, connecting the youth and addressing the topics relevant for the reconciliation process.
Chairman Zvizdić said BIH supports and takes an active part in all processes and initiatives bringing about connectedness, economic development, and peace and stability in the region. He emphasised that the EU commitment to the region, keeping the enlargement topical and focusing at positive processes is the only guarantee of a permanent stabilisation and prosperity of the Western Balkans.
The interlocutors agreed about a need to promote cooperation of the two respective economic chambers, along with cooperation of businessmen through business forums and bilateral meetings, which are good tools for improvement of the economic cooperation. He stressed that the bilateral relations are possible to build also in the areas of science, culture, technology, sports and youth.
Chairman Zvizdić thanked for support of Romania to the Euro-Atlantic integrations of BIH, and reaffirmed BIH support to Romania for becoming a non-permanent UNCS member for 2020-21.
Prime Minister Dancila thanked for support of our country to candidacy of Romania for the non-permanent UNSC member.
