Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH dr. Denis Zvizdić, who stays in Tirana, Albania, at the Vienna Economic Forum, while addressing to its panel “From Berlin to Vienna: Return of Geopolitical Certainty to the Western Balkans”, said that this is just one in a series of meetings of the Western Balkans Prime Ministers, which proves a positive tendency and readiness for mutual cooperation, not only in view of development of infrastructural projects in transport and energy sectors, but also for the purpose of good cooperation in general in the Western Balkans region, as a basis for economic and social development.

“Such meetings speak of our openness and readiness to cooperate in all areas and make political, social, and particularly economic cooperation and thus create a single market attractive to foreign investors.”, Chairman Zvizdić said.

Chairman Zvizdič spoke of a change of priorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and stressed that the Council of Ministers has currently three priorities, out of which the first one is the intensification of development and implementation of EU integrations-related commitments, saying that our aim is to get a candidate status and implement credibly all tasks stemming from the Stabilisation and Accession Agreement, so as to become a part of major streams and funds of the European Union.

The second key factor is the economic reforms aimed at a change of business environment, which we expect to make us a country attractive to investments. Chairman Zvizdić said that t the third priority is the rule of law and combat against corruption and all other forms of crime and terrorism, in addition to good neighbourhood cooperation.

“Our country is extremely important in terms of stability of the Western Balkans, which will allow us to act before investors together and in unified way”, said Chairman Zvizdić in his address.

He emphasised that BIH will support all projects linking BIH with its neighbours, noting a repeated request for the Adriatic-Ionian Motorway, which should run through BIH because of perceived numerous advantages. He said that BIH supports a joint project with the Republic of Serbia of construction of railway track Beograd – Sarajevo – Čapljina – Ploče. Zvizdić said that the Balkan countries showed their readiness for cooperation, not only in terms of infrastructure, but as regards the overall economic and social development.

The meeting in Tirana was hosted by Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, and attending were Prime Ministers of Serbia, Monte Negro, Macedonia and Kosovo.
