Zvizdić Invites Orešković to Visit Bosnia and Herzegovina

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizić and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Trade and economic relations of BIH Mirko Šarović met today in London, at the margins of the Western Balkans Investment Conference in London with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Tihomir Orešović. 

Prime Minister Orešković congratulated to Chairman Zvizdić and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina for submission of the EU membership application, saying that Croatia will strongly support BIH on the road.

Chairman Zvizdić and Prime e Minister Orešković agreed upon the importance of good neighbourhood and regional cooperation and that in the coming period of time it is necessary to foster bilateral relations and even more strongly develop the economic cooperation between the two states along with overall cooperation of the countries of the region.

Chairman Zvizdić said the Council of Ministers decided to step-up considerably its integration into the European Union-related efforts, and informed Prime Minister Orešković of the current political and economic developments in BIH, including the Reform Agenda implementation. He said that infrastructure projects are extremely important for BIH, such as the Corridor V c, Adriatic-Ionian Motorway and Adriatic-Ionian Gas Pipeline.

Chairan Zvizdić expressed his concern for disposing nuclear waste near the BIH border, saying he is hopeful about a soon solution to the issue.  They also discussed possibilities for cross-border cooperation, European partnership, transport, energy, exchange of agricultural products and food, concluding that there is a space for even high quality cooperation.

Discussed was also the migrant crisis and tis possible spreading to our state. Prime Minister Orešković was interested for the energy sector, and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic relations briefed him of BIH capacities in the sector.

The meeting agreed to organise a joint session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Council of Ministers do BIH in the period to come..

This was the first meeting of BIH and Croatian counterparts, after Orešković took his current office.
