Zvizdić – Keqiang: To Boost and Advance Two Countries’ Cooperation

Chairman Zvizdić briefed Prime Minister Keqiang of the current political and economic developments in our country and the region. He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has over the past period fulfilled all requirements from Brussels, expecting to get the candidate status for the EU membership, by which the BIH-EU relations would enter a new dynamics.
Chairman Zvizdić expressed his satisfaction with the dynamics of development of the BIH-China relations, adding that the Initiative “One Belt – One Road” made both political and economic relations stronger, while a soon start of construction of Thermal Power Plant of 450MW capacity Block 7 in Tuzla, as the most significant energy sector investment, represents a concrete example of realisation of ideas formulated under the “17+1” Summit. He reiterated the commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina to continuation of a proactive participation in the Initiative and implementation of agreed-to project.
Chairman Zvizdić said that our country is interested to continue further improvement and strengthening of ties with the People’s Republic of China in the tourism, energy and transport sectors, holding notable potentials for investment and development. He underlined a considerable interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina for expert of agricultural products to China, especially high quality products, such as dairy products, bee honey and wine, which would largely help increase the existing production, adding that there are relevant agreements in place on cooperation in agriculture, on trade and economic cooperation.
Prime Minister Keqiang said China is interested for import of products from BIH, emphasising the readiness of the Chinese side for an increased cooperation in the tourism, especially for investment to touristic infrastructure. He said China wants to expand its cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing at small and medium-sized enterprises.
Chairman Zvizdić thanked to Prime Minister Keqiang for his support for Sarajevo to host the 5th Summit of 17+1 Platform Capital Mayors.
