Zvizdić Met with World Bank Vice-President Cyril Muller

The Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met in Washington, D.C. with Cyril Muller, World Bank Vice-President for Europe and Central Asia. The discussed the continuation of cooperation, primarily on the ground of structural reforms relevant for the economic development of Bosna and Herzegovina, to be followed by financial assistance. 

They stressed that an important element for economic development is the construction of infrastructure, especially transport, power, communal and digital ones, as well as an increase of quality of resources for SMEs, for the end of increase of their productivity and job creation, all in order to prevent young people to leave the state.

Vice-President Muller said the World Bank will continue to support BIH, particularly in health sector reform programme, which represents a basis for achieving a sustainable health care system, as well as in public enterprises reform in order to improve their operability and financial efficacy.

Chairman Zvizdić and Vice-President Muller agreed that amongst main priorities of the World Bank there should be projects having a direct effect to citizens’ quality of life and project to accelerate economic growth and increase employment.

Vice-President Muller thanked to the Chairman for his hosting the May 2020 Constituency meeting.

Chairman Zvizdić also held meetings with Koen Davidse and Anthony De Lannoy, World Bank Executive Directors, and with Richard Doornbosch, Deputy Executive Director in IMF.
