Zvizdić – Mogherini: Progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina in EU Integrations Most Notable So Far

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić talked in Brussels with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini on progress which Bosnia and Herzegovina has made in the European integrations process. 

Chairman Zvizdić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is strongly committed for the RU integrations,. And underlined that te EU membership is the major foreign policy priority and strategic aim of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that BIH has fulfilled the last condition on that road, by adopting the finalised text coordination mechanism,. Hr informed the high Representative of the level of realisation of the Reform Agenda, the implantation of which bring Bosnia and Herzegovina functionally closer to the EU. HE said that the other condition linked to the Stabilisation and Accession Agreement was met, and that the BIH Presidency wits for the ratification by the Europeans Union countries. He expressed his conviction that BIH will complete its obligations so that it might get the candidate status by the end of 2017. HE noted a move made on NATO rad, which is one of the main messages contributing to security in BIH and the region.

High Representative Mogherini commended the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina in meeting of the conditions for inclusion of BIH application for membership in the European Union at the agenda of the up.-coming meeting the European Union General Affairs Council.

High Representative Mogherini congratulated to the results achieved, saying that Bosnia dn Herzegov8ina enjoy support for the continuation on as active as possible European road. She said that a visible progress was made in realisation of the tasks that BIH got form the European Union, and that in the coming period of time even stronger cooperation among the Western Balkans countries is needed in fostering of security and suppression of terrorism and all forms of extremism. She underlined the necessity of continuity of affirmative activities.

Speaking of the announced referendum in the Entity of Republika  Srpska, Chairman Zvizdić and High Rerpsentative Mogherini agreed that the referendum is unneeded  and detrimental, and that the coming period of time shuld be dvoted to the economic development of the country.

Haimrn Zvizdić thanked to support and assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European integrations process, and expressed his belief that the notable progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina will be recognised on September 20, when the Council will adopt a conclusion on forwarding a BIH request  to the European Commission with an invitation to prepare the Opinion on BIH application for membership.
