Competences of the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers
RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS
The Chairperson represents the Council of Ministers and is responsible for:
coordinating the work of the Council of Ministers;
harmonizing the constitutional relations of the Council of Ministers with the Presidency of BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as well as with the entities and the Brčko District of BiH;
ensuring cooperation between the Council of Ministers and the governments of the entities and lower levels of government;
convening sessions of the Council of Ministers;
chairing sessions of the Council of Ministers;
setting the agenda for the sessions of the Council of Ministers;
implementing the decisions of the Council of Ministers;
overseeing the work of the Directorate for EU Integration.
The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, in cooperation with their deputies, establishes the work policy of the Council, particularly setting priorities and the pace of work.
The Chairperson specifically coordinates and monitors the activities of the state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina related to the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the EU.
The Directorate for EU Integration reports directly to the Chairperson to ensure effective fulfillment of these duties and tasks.
The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers is accountable to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and the Presidency of BiH.
In case of absence, the Chairperson is replaced by one of the Deputy Chairpersons in accordance with the Rules of Procedure.
