Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina dr. Nikola Špirić talked in Sarajevo with Prime Minister of Montenegro Igor Lukšić. Following the meeting, Chairman Špirić and Prime Minister of Montenegro Lukšić addressed to the media.

“This was a chance for us to exchange experiences on bilateral relations of the two countries. A joint assessment is that the relationship between B-H and Montenegro has no outstanding issues that might check the development of good neighbourly relations”, Chairman Špirić stated in his address to journalists.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H said that it was agreed that agreements which are of interest for citizens of both countries should be prepared until the next official meeting, and these are primarily the agreements on border, air traffic, social insurance and other issues. Špirić stressed a need for a more comprehensive cooperation in the area of tourism.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers said that B-H and Montenegro share same values when it comes to regional and international cooperation.

Prime Minister of Montenegro Igor Lukšić in his address to the media underlined the good neighbourly relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and said: “I’ve had a chance to talk cordially and frankly with Chairman Špirić on the topics relevant for the relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to him, it would be very useful at present to insist on a completion of certain agreements and implementation of projects that both B-H and Montenegrin citizens would benefit from through improvement of both living standard and possibility of using of public services.

“We understood a need that our regional cooperation be used as a tool for sending positive signals to Brussels, because our joint future is in the European Union, and we now need to continue with an active attitude throughout the process.”, the Prime Minister of Montenegro said.
